The
House of Rothschild
had its financial beginnings in the
in Judengasse (Jew Alley) of Frankfurt
am Main, Germany. Mayer Amschel Rothschild
has been called the founder of international
finance.
The Rothschild coat of arms was given
by the Habsburg College of Heralds in
1822. The five arrows depicted on the
shield represent the five Rothschild brothers
which were sent to various locations throughout
Europe by their father Mayer Amschel Rothschild
to grow their family banking business.
Here is a more modern version of the coat
of arms of the Rothschild family. The
star of David can be seen in the top left
of the arms, representing the family's
strong Jewish faith.

The three words below the shield of the
coat of arms are Concordia, Integritas,
Industria which translate to Harmony,
Integrity, Industry.
