is the follow up book to Eckhart Tolle's
fabulously popular "The
Power of Now" which has sold
millions of copies worldwide and continues
to sell well today. A New Earth is a book
that can be read without any knowledge
of the author's previous work as it is
not a sequel to his Power of Now book.
Tolle continues with similar themes to
his previous work, discussing and elaborating
on the ego, the pain body, the self, and
awakening from a society that encourages
deep sleep. In the first chapters of A
New Earth Eckhart Tolle talks about the
dysfunction of religion and belief systems,
without being too overly critical of them.
He mentions the positive changes that
have already been happening within society
and points toward a path of more intense
self awareness.
A New Earth isn't just another self help
book that fills the reader with hopes
and empty dreams. It's a book that puts
forward some practical solutions to ways
of thinking that have caused so much pain
and dysfunction within society. He never
promises utopia, but he does point towards
a way of living with less pain and suffering
than our current world deals with.
Tolle's "A New Earth" is at
least as enjoyable as his best selling
"The
Power of Now" and with influential
people like Oprah Winfrey pushing the
book through her "Oprah's Book Club",
this will be a another best seller for
years to come.
